We know being a single mom is hard work. You are often exhausted, lonely, and longing for the confidence to raise your children. We desire you to feel seen, loved, and supported—in other words, not alone. You are welcome here.

Loneliness (feeling alone and invisible) is one of the most challenging aspects of being a single mom. At Not Alone, you matter. As you share your story and find connection, experience the fulfillment of being seen by others, and most importantly, God who is El Roi (The God who sees me).

Everyone has a deep longing to be loved authentically for who they are. To belong without judgment of past mistakes or circumstances. You will find unconditional love and encouragement in the Not Alone community, where you may “come as you are” without fear of stigma.

We start with community and relational support - being seen, loved, and belonging. Then, with the power of that community, Not Alone provides tangible support when facing bumps in the road.

When life happens, we walk alongside the hurting and broken, we offer support in challenging circumstances so that no single mama has to walk alone.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We recognize the place of pain this question comes from. Many single moms are viewed with a stigma; as less than their married counterparts, a burden, or simply ignored completely.

At Not Alone, regardless of how or why you are a single mom, we celebrate you as courageous for raising your children alone. You have incredible value and are to be esteemed.

We view you through the same lens of grace and love that we ourselves need.
As you know in a very real and personal way, the lives of single moms are challenging.
Our hope is in Jesus, also known as “El Roi,” the God who sees. He sees you, He loves you.
The research and our experiences are evident: in a community with others walking alongside you, great hope and joy can be found, even in the darkest of valleys.

Once able to, please reach out to us so we can support and pray for you.
Based on research, the most powerful resource we can provide is an engaged, supportive community.
Yet, when you are struggling with rent, food, car troubles, and all the realities of life, that may not sound too helpful. We get it.
At Not Alone, everything starts with relationship. Without that, we are happy to point you to other community resources.

For those in our communities, we are sometimes able to provide assistance for tangible needs.

Check with your group leader for what types of support might be available when life is hard.

Not Alone Resources

While every community is a bit different, all have several core characteristics:
1) Grace-Filled: We are not here to “fix” you. Groups are meant to be places of sanctuary where you are safe and welcome, even if your life is a mess. You don’t have to wear a mask or fake having it all together.
2) Gospel-Centered: This does not mean “preachy.” It simply means that we believe true hope and healing come from Jesus. This means there is hope for all of us, no matter where we are or where we’ve been.

3) Nurturing Child-Care: If your children don’t enjoy coming, you can’t truly rest and engage. We also have strong child protection policies to keep your kids safe.

Logistically, groups meet in homes, churches, and McDonalds. They usually have a time of connection, eating, discussion (often with a Biblical theme), and prayer. They are all meant to be open and very welcoming places.
Let us know that you are looking and we’ll be happy to connect you with a leader. If you live too far away from a community meeting in person, let us know, and we can discuss virtual options.
There are no faith requirements to be part of a Not Alone community. All single moms are welcome.
You will not get weird looks or comments if you don’t attend church! The reality is that all of our moms are in different places spiritually. Some have no faith, and others have been walking with God for many years.

A Single Mom’s Pursuit of Justice for Her Family

With three kids and $32 to her name, Wendy fled domestic violence and began a long road toward safety and healing. Years later, after her children’s father was convicted, their family slowly rebuilt—until a technicality overturned the conviction and he was released back into the community. In February 2026, Wendy and her now-adult children returned to court, carried by prayer and community support.
